Hi All

Yes the dredging has started on the Wyrley & Essington Canal - see the attached photos.

I realise some of you didn't know about it but some time ago British Waterways said they had put in a bid for funding to dredge the W&E. We were thrilled at this prospect but nothing is sure until it's seen in action. Well today Brian & I went to Ogley Junction where the dredging is being off loaded and taken away by lorry. The work has begun at Ogley and will progress to Sneyd Wharf over the next few months. If more money can be found I've heard it may even get as far as Wolverhampton.

As you may imagine it's not the entire canal but spot dredging at bridge holes and anywhere that Land & Water Services Ltd, who are doing the job, feel there is a need. I have included the site agent of Land & Water in this message so if he knows different to this I hope he will send me the necessary information or correction and I'll send it out to you.

I have sent you this information as you are on my list of BCNS members and associates interested in the BCN. If you would rather I didn't send out the occasional email with relevant items please let me know & I'll remove you from my list. The information I send out tends to be pieces of interest that are too late for inclusion in the current issue of Boundary Post.

All the very best
Brenda
